About

We are a Catholic family desiring to observe the Christian Year.

Daniel grows vegetables and herbs in our front yard, writes poetry, and cooks good food, in addition to working full-time.

Haley spends her days with 2-year-old Benjamin, teaches ballet, cooks good food, and loves medieval studies.

Benjamin eats, adores the chickens, plays silly games, reads books, and brings joy to our lives.

Introducing us: Joseph, Helen and Frances Marie. He teaches, sharing his love of literature, language, poetry, math, and baseball with the dedicated students of St Monica Academy. He writes poems, too. She works at a vintage boutique, teaches Irish dance and knitting classes and gardens in the asphalt cracks of our urban garden. Together we’re raising Frances Marie to grow in wisdom, stature, and love.

Helen came into the Roman Catholic Church as a toddler when her father converted from atheism. She grew up singing in church choirs every Sunday at her home town of Adelaide, Australia. Joseph was confirmed into the Catholic faith in 2007, during his junior year at Thomas Aquinas College, where he met Helen. Since then, we’ve been figuring out how to be disciples, how to be Catholic, and, maybe most importantly, how to follow Christ and his Church according to the contexts of our personal and historical traditions.
